*Day 120*
I decided that for April Fool's day I would write my favorite joke. I like to laugh. But I don't remember very many jokes. Even when the daycare kids get on a joke kick and ask me tell them a knock knock joke or something. I have like two that I can think of, if I'm lucky. Not at all like my Uncle Evan who always had a new joke. Or sometimes the same one, but we laughed anyway. Like if you were getting a drink, he would walk up and say, "Don't drink that or you'll get what I've got!" And so you'd say, "What?" And he'd say, "A wet mouth!" But, I do have one joke that I call my favorite. Maybe because I can remember it. I hope I can do it justice by writing it down. (And I apologize for the language.) Get ready to laugh! :)
The kids came into school for their first day of first grade. The teacher decided that for their first activity she would have each student get up tell what they did for their summer vacation. She explained to the children what they were to do and then reminded them that they were big first graders now and they would practice talking with big kid words.
The first student got up and said, "This summer my dad took me to the zoo and we saw a roarrrrrr." The teacher reminded her to talk with big kids words. She corrected herself and said, "Lion."
The second student said, "I went for a ride on a choo-choo." The teacher reminded him to use big kid words. He responded, "a train."
The third student got up and said, "I went to Disneyland and saw Winnie the Shit."
(Pause for laughter)
Thinking of jokes. I have one more that I can remember. I don't know why I remember it, it's not a real joke. One day with the girls on the cross country team, we decided that it would be funny to tell a joke that wasn't really a joke, then laugh real hard, just to see if we could get other people to laugh. We wanted to see if they would laugh just because we were, or only if they got the joke. So Suzy came up with this, spur of the moment.
Why are there no telephone poles in elevators?
Because birds don't fly backward! (then hysterical laughter)
So, do you get it?
But, are you laughing anyway?
