Life With Logan
*Day 319*
These are the kind of things I get to do when I'm with Logan. Notice where the real sidewalk is, on the left. Logan is riding on the little "bonus" sidewalk he discovered. I am instructed to "follow me", so I get to ride on it too. I'm really not sure if I would have noticed the mini sidewalk there if it hadn't been for Logan. I love that when I'm with him I get a chance to see new things and discover. (Unless, of course, I'm in a hurry.) But, I do love that he takes the time to notice things around him and explore.

"Swoosh, swoosh"
*Day 243*
Sometimes my kid cracks me up. And I'm glad he has this little of sense of humor growing. And then, sometimes I wish he hadn't caught onto his dad's sense of humor. But, what can I do....

Me and Logan ride our bikes to work everyday. There is one place that we go past that has low tree branches. When I ride under them on my bike they hit my head. I guess Logan thinks that's pretty neat because ever since he got his bigger bike, he stands up and tries to hit tree branches with his head. The other day, we were riding to work. Logan wanted to play a game. He told me that he would do an action and I had to follow it. So, he would go up a drive way or over a curb or swerve back and forth on the sidewalk, and I had to do the same thing as him. Then, it was my turn to to lead, and he had to follow my action. Well, I went under those trees, and my head hit them. And then I heard Logan behind me. It sounded like he hit the trees, but I think he was tall enough to hit them. I looked behind me to see if he hit them or if he was just making the noise like he did. He was back there, standing up on his bike making this "swoosh, swoosh" (that's not really what it sounded like, it was a convincing sound, I just don't know how to type it so, I'm going with swoosh)sound as he went under the trees. I had to ask him if he hit the tree or just made the sound. He explained to me that he was making the sound because he was supposed to be following my action, but couldn't hit the trees. It just cracked me up that he was back there pretending to hit the trees.

Pet Peeve: Weathermen
*Day 169*

"Umbrellas: They only keep you dry when it's the rain that's falling."
I'm a little tired of the rain. Not because I really hate rain. I know we need it. It's beautiful with all the beautiful green lawns. But, I've had to drive to work the last two days, and I really wanted to ride my bike again. I knew that the weather wasn't supposed to be really good this week. I've been keeping an eye it, to see when I should ride and when I will most likely get caught in a rainstorm. So, I watched the weather last night. And the weather man said, "Isolated mountain thunderstorms. But really, nothing you have to worry about." Thanks you Mr. Weatherman! I rode my bike to work today. Then, it rained all day.
OK, I don't really hate weathermen. They usually do a pretty good job. And, really, it only rained while I was at work. I got there before it started and it stopped before I had to go home, so it wasn't really that bad. It's just been a long, tired week, so I'm a little complainy, and I just needed something to blog about.

Bikin' and Runnin'
*Day 157*

I let Logan ride his bike with me while I tried to run this morning. It was kind of nice to have some company. He was good to be patient because I was so slow. It didn't really turn out to be as much as an issue as I thought it would be. Even on a bike he has to stop and look at things. He saw the baby ducks, the land slide area, and explored the canal. It took us 50 minutes for me to do a 25 minute run.
I learned some things about Logan. He has loved riding his bike. Some days he even forgets to ask if he can play the Wii because he rides his bike instead. But, he doesn't like skinny sidewalks, or bumpy sidewalks, or downhills, or trees on skinny sidewalks. And he definitely doesn't like riding next to the river when there is no sidewalk. He loves to ride onto the road for any reason. He liked telling dad how far he rode. He's never been that far before. It might have made him a little tired. He really didn't seem into is soccer game this afternoon. But, who knows, maybe I have a new training partner.
